Who is Larry English?

Larry English is a former American football player who was drafted by the San Diego Chargers as an outside linebacker in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Larry became the MAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2008.

Larry English was born on 22nd January 1986 in Aurora, Illinois. He is the son of Larry English, Sr. and Susan English. He has a sister Monica who is five years younger than Larry.

His parents divorced when they were young and he did not pay for their private school. He attended Marmion Academy in Aurora, Illinois, and Northern Illinois University.

High school & College

Larry English attended Marmion Academy and he was named team co-captain, MVP, and First-team All-Suburban Catholic Conference. Similarly, Larry was a medical redshirt in 2004 and played in the first game of the season.

In the year 2007, he was the Mid-American Conference’s MVP.

Professional career

Larry has scored a 34 on the aptitude assessment Wonderlic Test at the 2009 NFL Draft Combine. Likewise, he was picked 16th overall in the 2009 NFL Draft. He was the highest drafted player out of Northern Illinois.

Larry was drafted by the Chargers first round as 16th overall in the 2009 NFL Draft. Similarly, he was a defensive end in college. He has tackled 23 as a rookie. On 22nd July 2014, he was released by the Chargers.

On 14th August 2014, he was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Likewise, Larry was cut by the team on August 29 and resigned on 9th September 2014.
